What we do

Drip for beds, pop-up for lawn, smart control across both.

Garden irrigation in Melbourne is typically zoned by application. Sub-surface drip lines deliver water at the root zone of garden beds with minimal evaporation loss. Pop-up sprinklers (pressure-regulated, matched precipitation rate) cover lawn evenly. Most residential properties need both, on separate zones, controlled from a single unit. We design the zone layout, install, and commission.

Smart Wi-Fi controllers (Hunter Hydrawise, Rachio, Rain Bird ESP-TM2) integrate weather forecast data and on-site sensors to skip watering when rain is forecast and adjust run times across the seasons. Typical water-use reduction is 30 to 50 per cent compared to a fixed-schedule controller, with full system payback inside four years on water savings alone.

Where mature trees are present on site, we design the irrigation zones to support both the trees and the surrounding beds without contributing to root collar disease or surface compaction. Drip lines are kept clear of the trunk and run along the inner edge of the dripline where water uptake is most active.

What it costs

By zone, by complexity.

Most residential systems land between $1,500 and $5,000 installed. Repairs and audits are quoted separately.

Drip system
$1,500 to $3,000

Drip-only for an average suburban garden, 2 to 3 zones, basic timer.

  • Black poly main
  • Sub-surface drip lines
  • Battery timer included
Full system + smart controller
$3,000 to $6,000

Drip + pop-up + smart Wi-Fi controller. Lawn and beds, multiple zones, weather-aware.

  • 4 to 8 zones
  • Smart Wi-Fi controller
  • Backflow valve included
Repair or audit
$180 to $750

Diagnose a leaking system, replace broken heads, re-program controller, tune run times.

  • Full system check
  • Written audit report
  • Tune-up included

Mains-connected systems require a licensed plumber for the backflow valve (around $250 to $400). We coordinate that with the install.

How we work

The standard process.

Step 01

Site visit

We walk the garden, check the planting, measure the lawn, note the tap location and water pressure.

Step 02

Design + quote

Zone layout, controller spec, parts list, written quote. Usually within two business days.

Step 03

Install day

Trench, lay, connect, install controller, commission. Most residential systems install in a day, full systems in two.

Step 04

Walk-through + season check

We walk you through the controller, leave a printed run-time guide, and come back at the end of summer to tune.
